The Knight With The Lion #2

This part in the story was filled of complex meanings within the text. What was going through Yvain’s head as he left his new home and went with King Arthur and his court. The lion and the snake on some level represented Yvain and the problems he will face; is facing and already has faced in his life. The lion represents him and his problems are shown as the snake. Over time the snake will gain the upper hand and gain control of him. Yvain is stuck with a problem to save the lion from the snake or not. Either way if he helps the lion, the lion will surely attack him; and if he doesn’t the snake will attack him after it’s done with the lion. Yvain decides to help free the lion. Yvain will be freed from his problems when he asked for help. There is no shame or dishonor in asking for help. As shown by the lion after Yvain as freed it, showing him great honor.
As the story continues Yvain and the lion become one, an inseparable pair. This is Yvain’s help for his problems. They feed off of one another’s’ strengths to survive and get stronger. To the point where they are unstoppable together and separated. As Yvain defends his lady alone without the lion putting up a good fight until the end, where he needed “help”.

The Knight With The Lion #1

The lack of a prologue in this romance story might indicate to us that nothing of great importance had happened to Yvain until this story had begun.  He was just another regular royal knight who did everything that was ever asked of him. Not having a prologue can also tell us that more of the romance of the story is yet to be told and it is coming in the other parts of the story.  Or that the romance in this is just normal romance. Love between a knight and his lady, nothing more nothing less.  For the writer not to bother to write a prologue, might suggest there will be an epilogue at the end of the story; trying to switch things up or to surprise us. Or the writer didn’t have time to write a prologue, since the story came to him so strongly.
The story developed slowly. Wasn’t sure when the actually romance story would start until it was already happening. Introducing so many characters at the beginning, the romance could have been about any one of them.  It was different them most other love stories. Was strung together nicely though. Had some room for your mind to wander and think what was going to happen next. But it being a romance story, also limited what you thought the outcome would be.

Erec & Enide #3

Erec & Enide #3

Reading the end of the story between Erec and  Enide, you see Erec finally turn into a full honored knight.
As the story goes on you realize, that Erec still has friends and people who still view him as a highly regarded knight, with his abilities.
Enide also finally shows her true feelings for Erec. Nothing can stop her from showing how much she loves him and with his death she didn't hesitate to end hers just to be with him in the afterlife. She still expresses her opinion openly to him, but now in a more respecting role as his wife.
Erec as a knight went forth and pursued what he needed to do, to gain favor once again with the court of the king. He faced and won against the challenge that was put in front of him.
In the end both Enide and Erec end up with renowned honor for what they did. And with that brought them great   fame and wealth and even more people came to like them. And with this they both reached harmony with each other, to form the perfect couple of the beautiful respectful lady and her honored, brave, and royal knight of a husband.
